Paul Fisher Jr.

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Paul G. Fisher Jr., 81, of Sikeston died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 7, 1921, at Sullivan, Mo., son of Paul G. and Alice L. Fisher Sr. He and Alice Marlin were married in 1950 in St. Louis.

Fisher received a degree in economics from Westminster College.

He moved to Southeast Missouri in the late 1940s. He became involved in farming, banking, and commercial real estate development in Southeast Missouri and in Sullivan.

Fisher was a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps, flying corsairs in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946. He was an active pilot until 1995.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Fisher III of Jackson, Mark Fisher of Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Ellen Baker of Scottsdale, Ariz., Alice Fisher of Columbia, Mo., Marsha Hoge of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a brother, Charles Fisher of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
