Paul C. Barks, 88, of Jackson died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Monticello House in Jackson.
He was born May 20,1916, at Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Fred J. and Nettie I. Conrad Barks. He and Lucille B. Propst were married Dec. 9, 1936. She died June 11, 1989.
Barks was a farmer and had been a bus driver for Meadow Heights School District at Patton, Mo. He was a member of Sedgewickville Lutheran Church, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 and VFW Post, both in Jackson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded three Bronze Stars.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Barks of Jackson, Larry Barks of Sedgewickville, Scotty Barks of Marble Hill, Mo.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Albert Nyland officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery near Sedgewickville.
