Civic and community leader Paul Bernard Loiseau, 65, 2509 Allendale, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 1991, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born Jan. 31, 1926, at Perryville, son of Louis Arthur and Cornelia Gieringer Loiseau. He and Margie Powers Hall were married Dec. 14, 1971, in Cape Girardeau.
Loiseau attended schools in Perryville, and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received the Bronze Star.
Loiseau had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1946. He was employed at the Southeast Missourian Newspaper from 1948-55. He joined First Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1955, retiring as senior vice president and secretary in 1982.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge, Tower Club, Cape Girardeau Country Club, and Cape Girardeau Industrial Development Corp.
Loiseau also served on the United Way, Cape Girardeau Public Library, and Chateau Girardeau Boards of Directors.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul B. Loiseau Jr. of Norris, Tenn., Robert J. Loiseau of Houston, Texas; two stepsons, Dr. Jim T. Hall and Dr. John P. Hall of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Louis and James Loiseau of Denver, Colo., John Loiseau of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Marita Nelson of Perryville, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Christopher S. Robinson, C.M., will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. There is no visitation.
