Paul Leonard Allison, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 27, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Robert William and Christine Glueck Allison. He and Catherine Gaither Allison were married on Sept. 5, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.

Allison served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1975 in Korea and Vietnam. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal while in Vietnam; he was also stationed in Kotzuba, Alaska, and Germany in the records analysis department, retiring in 1975 as a staff sergeant. Alllison was a postman with the post office from 1978 to 2000. He was a member of the Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 609 AF&AM, the Capaha Scottish Rites, Valley of St. Louis Scottish Rites, Cape Shriners, KIM Shrine Club, Eastern Star No. 60 Cape Rock Chapter, TPA, Eagles, Air Force Sergeants Association, Capaha Antique Club, charter member of the Alfred Family Association, Tackett Family Association Committee member, the National Guard No. 140 from 1952 to 1955, a 1953 graduate of Central High School, Central High School '50s graduating class reunion committee. Allison was a member of Maple United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Terry Allison, Greg Allison, both of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Charla Bueckers of Melrose, Minn.; a brother, Harold Allison of Huntsville, Ala.; four sisters, Mildred Clay of Cape Girardeau, Dorothy Bridwell of Hiber Springs, Ark., Monica Cobb of Belton, Mo., Ruth Ann Wilson of Spokane, Wash.; three grandsons, Christopher Allison, Jonathan Allison, Benjamin Allison, all of Cape Girardeau; three granddaughters, Amanda Bueckers, Jennifer Bueckers, Elizabeth Bueckers, all of Melrose.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Allison and Junior Allison; and two sisters, Camille Brooks and Edna Schaefer.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating.

Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery with military rites by the Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838 and the Missouri Military Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospitals.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
