Patty Hill Stemmler of Cape Girardeau passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at her home. She was a medical technician.

She was born on March 12, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Russell and Mona Gregory Hill. She married Robert "Bob" Stemmler on Nov. 2, 1991 at Pacific, Mo.

She lived in Cape most of her life and worked with the Comtrea-Keaton Center as a Medical Technician for more than five years. She specialized in being a caseworker for the mentally challenged. She was very active in all outdoor activities and was a very avid lover of children and animals. In 1993-94 she was recognized by the State of Missouri as an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor.

Mrs. Stemmler is survived by her husband of Pacific, Mo.; her mother, Mona Gregory Hill of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Melanie Tucker of Cape Girardeau; five brothers, David Hill of Cape Girardeau, Richard Hill of San Antonio, Tex., Charles Hill of Cape Girardeau, Mike Hill and Russell Hill; two sisters, Karen Cook and Becky Couey, both of Cape Girardeau. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Haley Brooke Tucker of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 1999 at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, the Rev. Clayton Smith officiating. Pallbearers include James Cook, Gary Howell, Fonz Elkins, Charles Hill, David Hill, Richard Hill and Reggie Irwin. Internment will be at Hobbs Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Southeast Hospice.
