Patsy Ruth Statler, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Missouri. She was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Scott County, daughter of David "Guy" and Ollie Lillian McClain Slinkard. She and Merlin V. "Pete" Statler were married Aug. 8, 1953. He passed away March 1, 2016...

Patsy Ruth Statler, 88, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

She was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Scott County, daughter of David "Guy" and Ollie Lillian McClain Slinkard.

She and Merlin V. "Pete" Statler were married Aug. 8, 1953. He passed away March 1, 2016.

Patsy was a 1945 graduate of Delta High School. She continued her education at the former Cape Business College.

Before going to work as an accountant in Cape Girardeau, she worked for the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and Rhodes Oil Company.

While she enjoyed working outside the home, she will be most remembered as a loving mother to her two sons.

Loving survivors include a son, Steven (Jeanie) Statler of Jackson; two grandchildren, Jason Statler of St. Louis and Cherish (Ryan) Brott of Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Statler and Tyler and Dylan Brott; and two sisters, Jane Klaus of Jackson and Novella Howell of Chaffee, Missouri. Also surviving are many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Statler, in 1981, as well as five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Shriners Hospital.
