DEXTER, Mo. � Patsy Proffer Sherman, 85, of Dexter, formerly of Advance, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 27, 1933, in Sturdivant, Missouri, the daughter of Elvin and Jessie Walker Proffer.
Patsy was a 1951 graduate of Advance High School. She had been a homemaker. She was a member of Advance First Baptist Church. Patsy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and flowers.
Patsy and Harold �Charles� Sherman were united in marriage Sept. 8, 1951, in Dexter, and he preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Keith (Rhonda) Sherman of Dexter; a daughter, Pamela (Mike) Turpin of Holstein, Iowa; two brothers, Robert Proffer of Godfrey, Illinois, and Jackie Proffer of Garlin, Texas; three grandchildren, Kim McCoy, Derek Sherman and Daniel Turpin; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Preston and Maddux McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the chapel, with Rev. Brad Sherman officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association or the Stoddard County Children�s Home.
