SIKESTON -- Patsy J. Salmon, 62, of Sikeston died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Jan. 24, 1938, at Cairo, Ill., daughter of Earl and Sarah Vancil Trexler. She and Edward Salmon were married. Salmon was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She served as secretary on the Cairo School District board for many years. Salmon was also past president of the southern division of the Illinois Association of School Boards...

SIKESTON -- Patsy J. Salmon, 62, of Sikeston died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Jan. 24, 1938, at Cairo, Ill., daughter of Earl and Sarah Vancil Trexler. She and Edward Salmon were married.

Salmon was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Cairo and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She served as secretary on the Cairo School District board for many years. Salmon was also past president of the southern division of the Illinois Association of School Boards.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bruce Salmon of Cairo and Paul Salmon of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Dorothy Tarnow of Woodland, Calif., Esther Lee Denton of Paducah, Ky., Gloria Jean Carter of Riverside, Calif., and Karen Sue Kalilec of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Paul Trexler of Picayune, Miss., and Larry Joe Trexler of Cunningham, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate, with burial at Alto Pass Cemetery in Alto Pass, Ill.
