Patricia Ann McClard, 81, of Jackson passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at her home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Jackson, daughter of Walter Sr. and Alma Kinder Schroeder.
Pat was a 1956 graduate of Jackson High School and attained a Bachelor of Science in education from Southeast Missouri State University.
She first taught in the Oak Ridge School District before embarking on a 30-year career at North Elementary in the Jackson School District. Many of her students will remember her teaching line dancing and giving great hugs. Pat retired in 2003.
She was a member of the former Jackson Church of the Nazarene.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Terri (Ron) McClard McKiddy of Creve Coeur, Missouri; son, Ricky Lane McClard of Jackson; granddaughter, Bethanney Thele of Perryville, Missouri; brother, Walter "Bud" (Louise) Schroeder Jr. of Aurora, Illinois; three great-grandchildren; three nieces; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary (the Rev. Jim) Palmer, and their daughter, Dorothy.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Michael Palmer and Ken Harper officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Lung Association.
