Patricia Ann Furey, 88, of Jackson passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 3, 1934, in St. Louis, daughter of Fred F. and Ellen A. Mullen Smith. She and James A. Furey were married Jan. 30, 1954. He passed away Jan. 1, 2015...

Patricia Ann Furey, 88, of Jackson passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 3, 1934, in St. Louis, daughter of Fred F. and Ellen A. Mullen Smith. She and James A. Furey were married Jan. 30, 1954. He passed away Jan. 1, 2015.

Pat was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and volunteered at the Jackson Senior Center in Jackson. Later in life, she enjoyed working a number of years at Wib's Drive-In in Jackson.

Loving survivors include four children, James (Joy) Furey of Harrisburg, Illinois, Patrick Furey of Jackson, Timothy (Wendy) Furey of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jennifer Furey of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Sarah Lynn (Zak) Cobb and Bryan (Meredith) Furey; and one great-granddaughter. Sutton Cobb.

Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Fred Dice of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and a cousin, Jim Smith of Bourbon, Missouri.

In addition to her husband, Pat was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Frances Dice.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackso,n with the Rev. Randolph Tochtrop officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to The ARC (Association Retarded Citizens).
