KELSO, Mo. -- Patricia "Pat" Ann Cotner of Robertsdale, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the age of 75. She died peacefully within her home in Kelso, Missouri, with her beloved husband, Lester Cotner, and her extended family by her side.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lester Cotner; and her sister, Christy (Steve) Hess. She was the loving mother to Cindy (Ron) Weaver, Duane (Kim) Slaubaugh, Angie (Raymond) Butler, Jennifer Bridwell and Sarah (Chris) Dumey.

She was the proud grandmother to Tanner Hankins, Bradley Slaubaugh, Lexy Brown, Madison Hankins, Lance Slaubaugh, Abby Weaver, Brennen Heisserer, Bailey Heisserer and Jadyn Dumey. She was a cherished aunt to Kolton Hess and Austin Hess.

Pat was preceded in death by her grandson, Cody Slaubaugh, and her mother, Lois Brougher.

Pat was a world-renowned amateur angler who put her unconditional love for her grandchildren above all else. An Alabama native, she possessed a sharp, unfiltered southern wit which earned her more than a few life-long friendships, eyerolls, wide-eyed side glances and tears of laughter throughout the years.

Pat retired from Saint Francis Health Care System after 18 years of service to her community where she is fondly remembered by both remaining and retired employees. A self-proclaimed bird and squirrel whisperer, Pat never met a dog (or cat, sometimes to her husband's dispute) that she did not like. She will be deeply missed by Shelby, their Yorkie Poo, who loyally remained planted on her mother's lap until she knew her mom had crossed over into the next realm.

We love you, Grandma.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be private at a later date. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
