Owen Dudley Jackson, 86, of Scott City died Monday, March 24, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 26, 1916, in Lafe, Ark., son of John Harvey and Belle Black Jackson. He married Hattie Mae Puckett, who preceded him in death.

Jackson retired as a forklift operator at Chrome Craft Manufacturing in St. Louis. He lived in Granite City, Ill., 30 years, and was a member of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church there.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Jackson of Scott City; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, Ark., from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Delmar Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Lafe.
