SCOTT CITY -- Owen John "Cotton" Rogers, 67, of Scott City, died Sunday, April 25, 1993, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 2, 1926, at Ancell, Mo., son of Owen J. and Anna Welter Rogers.
Rogers retired from the United States Navy after 21 years of service. He is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, VFW Post 6407 in Scott City and the Naval Reserve Association.
Survivors include two brothers, Bill Rogers of Scott City, Charles Rogers of Arnold, Mo.; and two sisters, Margaret Parker of Belleville, Ill., Mary Ann Bles of Vinita, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, with the Rev. Msgr. John Westhues officiating.
Graveside military rites will be performed by VFW Post 6407 of Scott City.
Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.
