O.W. Bryant, 80, of Jackson passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Charleston, Mo., son of George and B. "Florence" Hawkins Bryant Sr. He and Judith McDowell were married Dec. 18, 1976, in Jackson.
O.W. was a 1947 graduate of Charleston High School. He worked at Tipton's Linen Service in Cape Girardeau 27 years, retiring in 1995. He loved his family, enjoyed sports, history and reading Western novels, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include his wife of 34 years; five children, Terry (Glenda) Dalton and Sandra (Michael) Ott of Cape Girardeau, Tab Rapp of St. Louis, Kandi (David) Sailer and Todd (Christa) Rapp of Jackson; a brother, George (Dorothy) Bryant of Romeo, Mich.; two sisters, Naomi Crosier of St. Ann, Mo., Mary Jane (The Rev. Jerry) Statler of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul; a sister, Nellie Skradski; and two infant brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
