EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Ovella Mae Scott of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Larry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Scott, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Dec. 11, 1909, in Marshall County, Ky., daughter of George Washington and Lou Addie King Stokes. She and Welton Edward "Shorty" Scott were married July 1, 1928. He died Oct. 6, 1968.

Scott lived in East Prairie most of her life. She was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include four sons, Samuel and Bennie Scott of Glasgow, Ky., Arlie Scott of Wood River, Ill., Donald Scott of Charleston; four daughters, Opal Parham of Sikeston, Almeda Greer and Doris Little of East Prairie, Martha Jackson of Glasgow; 32 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and three sisters.
