CHAFFEE -- Ottis Walter Evans Sr., 72, of Chaffee, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1993, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 5, 1920, at Chaffee, son of William and Nettie Arnold Evans. He and Norma Lee Jones were married Dec. 8, 1941.
Evans was a machine operator 31 years with National Lead Co. in St. Louis, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ottis Evans Jr. of High Ridge, James Evans of Marble Hill, Jerry Evans of Chaffee; two sisters, Rose Gillison of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Anna Guyott of Chaffee; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Charley Shrum will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
