Otis Phillips, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Stoddard County, Mo., son of Albert and Anna Bell Moore Phillips. He and Carrie L. O'Daniell were married April 1, 1944, in Piggott, Ark.

Phillips moved to Cape Girardeau in 1925. He worked for Union Electric 20 years and at Marquette Cement Co. 35 years, retiring in 1975.

He attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of Cement Lime Gypsum and Allied Workers Local 164.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Phillips of Maryville, Ill., David Phillips of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Shirley Blythe of Denver, Colo., Connie Louden of Austin, Ark., Rebecca Franklin of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Augusta Aubuchon of Cape Girardeau; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jim Hogue will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Advance, Mo.
