Oscar Poston, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Nov. 16, 1912, at Laflin, son of A.L. and Catherine Hahs Poston. He and Leola C. Seabaugh were married Sept. 23, 1932, in Jonesboro, Ill. She died March 26, 1997.
Poston was a foreman at International Shoe Co. about 40 years. He later worked in the Cape Girardeau area for Compo Machinery of Massachusetts. He was a member of First General Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Poston; a daughter, Carol Pind; a sister, Pearl Masters, all of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Revs. Fred Poston and David Griesemer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
