Oscar Harvey Kasten, 75, of 1827 Ricardo, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Pocahontas, the son of Theodore and Minnie Ludwig Kasten.
He married Elizabeth J. "Betty" Dieckmann March 6, 1948, in Cape Girardeau. She died June 16, 1993.
Kasten was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, its Board of Stewards, Trinity Lutheran Church Men's Club, Cape Girardeau Senior Citizens, Pictorial Painters Union and VFW Post 3838, where he was a lifetime member.
He was a graduate of Jackson High School and worked for 45 years as a commercial artist with General Sign Co. After his retirement in 1984, he worked with Otto Dingledein Silversmiths.
Kasten was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He served as a medic.
Survivors are two sons, Brad Kasten and Jack Hawk, both of Jackson; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David V. Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park with VFW Post 3838 conducting military rites.
