DUDLEY, Mo. -- Funeral for Oscar Gasser of Arlington, Tenn., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Danny Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Gasser, 83, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Waterloo, Ill., son of George and Pauline Kuhn Gasser. He and Opal Waldrup were married Nov. 27, 1939, at Bloomfield.

Formerly of Dudley, he had lived in Arlington the past three years. He was a retired farmer, and attended a Baptist church. He was a member of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner with Supreme Council in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Gasser of Dexter, John Gasser of Davenport, Iowa; a daughter, Anita Richardson of Memphis; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
