THEBES, Ill. -- Funeral service for Orville W. Kelley of Thebes will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Chapel in Tamms. The Rev. Carl D. Fisher will officiate, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.

Kelley, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born April 20, 1908, in Carbondale, son of William and Etta Glodo Kelley. He married Ruth Hale, who preceded him in death. He later married Lois Thompson McNelly.

Kelley was a member of American Legion Post 900 at McClure, and veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Doris Carlton of Thebes; a stepdaughter, Jo Smith of Thebes; three stepsons, Harold McNelly of Thebes, J.C. McNelly of Cape Girardeau, Edward Gee of Jackson, Mo.; two grandsons, a great-grandson; nine stepgrandchildren, and 23 great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.
