Orville McIntyre Sr.
Orville L. McIntyre Sr., 76, of Jackson died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 31, 1931, in Jackson, son of Jesse and Lora Crites McIntyre. He and Joy Crites were married June 22, 1963, in Granite City, Ill.
McIntyre was a welder. His employment included Maloney Electric and American Car Foundry in St. Louis, Hawk's Interstate and Sauder Tank in Emporia, Kan. He briefly worked at Lenco in Jackson until his health prohibited him.
He was a current member of the Cape County Cowboy Church in Fruitland and a previous member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Joy of Jackson; two sons, Orville L. "Butch" McIntyre Jr. of Tullahoma, Tenn., Norman F. McIntyre of Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, Jesse "Rod" McIntyre Jr. of Oak Ridge; a sister, Patrish Hockle of Jackson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Mills officiating.
Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery at Daisy.
