TAMMS, Ill. -- Orville "Doc" Richard Johnson, 85, of Tamms died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Jan. 9, 1920 in Dongola, Ill., son of Orville Newton and Rosa Hess Johnson. He and Kathryn Opal Connelly were married. She died Sept. 23, 2002.
Johnson was a member of Elco Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Johnson was a retired logger.
Survivors include a son, Richard Eugene Johnson of Tamms; a brother, Floyd Johnson of Cobden, Ill.; a sister, Nina Creekpaum of Sterling, Ill.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Archie W. Landis officiating. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery at Dongola.
