GORDONVILLE -- Orville F. Deneke, 78, of Gordonville, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 9, 1917, at Gordonville, son of William August and Pauline Elvina Nothdurft Deneke. He and Ruth Neumeyer were married Dec. 10, 1942.
Deneke farmed all his life. He was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church, charter member of its Methodist Men's Club, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served on the administrative board.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sarah Slinkard of Farmington; two brothers, Roy Deneke of Gordonville, Marvin Deneke of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Luella Brase and Marie Niswonger of Cape Girardeau, and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Church, with the Rev. Conway Briscoe III officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
