SIKESTON -- Orval Robert Shamblin, 78, of Sikeston, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Murphysboro, Ill., son of Robert Edward and Mamie Belle Ward Shamblin. He and Dorothy Eaton were married Sept. 6, 1942, in Cape Girardeau.
Shamblin was co-owner of the Charleston and Sikeston IGA Stores. He was a member of Christian Church and Blue Lodge in Hurst, Ill., Sikeston Shrine Lodge, and VFW at Charleston.
Survivors include his wife, and a sister, Irene Huddleston of Hurst.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lee Brummel will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Halliday Boro, Ill., Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
