OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Orman "Junior" Winn Jr., 70, of Olive Branch died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, Ill.
He was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Marion, Ill., son of Orman and Sibyl Chamness Winn. He and Norma Isom were married April 2, 1955.
Winn had been a ramp serviceman with the airline industry, and attended Lake Pierce Baptist Church. He was formerly of Lake Wales, Fla.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jack Winn and Shawn Powell of Lake Wales, Daniel Powell of Zephyrhills, Fla.; four daughters, Micki Griffith, Monica and Autumn Powell, all of Lake Wales, Julie Nowling of Winter Haven, Fla.; two brothers, James Winn of Marion, Theron Winn of Johnston City, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and Thursday until time of service.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, with military honors by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891.
