BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Funeral for Orin Phillips of Bloomfield will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo. The Revs. Thurman King and Bob Bradford will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Aquilla, Mo.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
Phillips, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.
He was born Jan. 18, 1922, at Zadock, Mo., son of Charles and Lissie Cox Phillips. He and Helen McCain were married July 19, 1944, in Piggott, Ark.
Phillips had farmed and taught agriculture classes at Oak Ridge School near Aquilla. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church at Aquilla.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay White of Advance, Judy Kirby of Dexter; three brothers, Byron, Charles and Dean Phillips of Bloomfield; two sisters, Novella Kingree of Bloomfield, Lorine Kennett of Dexter; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
