DEXTER -- Oren Loree Burklow, 77, of Dexter died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1922, at Zalma, son of James O. and Elsie Watson Burklow. He and Louise Elmore were married Aug. 28, 1944, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Burklow retired from General Motors in 1979 and moved to Florida. He moved to Dexter in 1991. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Burklow of Dexter, Phillip Burklow of Morris, Ill.; a daughter, Malea Zwick of Gainesville, Fla.; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Dunivan officiating. Burial will be in West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield.
