PADUCAH, Ky. -- Opal R. Widdows, 78, of Paducah died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Parkview Convalescent Home in Paducah.
She was born Dec. 22, 1922, at Matthews, Mo., daughter of Louis B. Franklin and Minnie Mae Hodge Wren. She and Frank R. Widdows were married. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Gospel Assembly in Paducah.
Survivors include a son, Frank Ray Widdows of Paducah; five daughters, Mary Motes, Agnes Schmidt and Wanda Hunt, all of Paducah, Linda Warner of Tulsa, Okla., and Nelda Mouser of Sikeston, Mo., two foster daughters, Pam Burgess Tabor and Theresa Burgess, both of Harrisburg, Ill.; a brother, Frank Wren of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Louise Wren and Mary Wren, both of Nashville, Tenn., and Pauline Hayden of Malden, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Lindsey Funeral Home and again at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gospel Assembly prior to the service.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gospel Assembly church, with the Revs. Encil Edmonds and Winford Wren officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Ill.
