Opal Pauline Roth, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born June 27, 1914, at Grassy, daughter of DeWitt T. and Hattie Mae Newell Sample. She and Raymond T. Roth were married July 19, 1940, at Jackson.
She was the owner and operator of the Flower Garden Florist in Illmo from 1963 to 1977. She continued to be active in floral work and craft fairs throughout Southeast Missouri until 1993.
She attended schools in Grassy, Lutesville and Cape Girardeau.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Dr. Steven R. Roth of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Peggy Brooks of Scott City and Linda Harmon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two brothers, Gerald Sample of McClure, Ill., and Jack Sample of Dittmer; a sister, Fern Vickery Kyle of Niceville, Fla; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David V. Dissen will officiate, with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
