CHAFFEE -- Opal Nickerson, 86, of Chaffee died Sunday, April 27, 1997, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1911, in Crump, the daughter of A.J. and Rhoda Crump Allen. She married Floyd Nickerson. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1974.
She was a retired teacher at Chaffee Elementary School. She was a member of Missouri Retired Teachers and National Teacher Association, Chaffee P.E.O. and Delta Homemakers.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include three nephews, Rev. Gary Allen of Fox Lake, Ill., Patrick Allen of Pontiac, Mich., and Ron Allen of Englewood, Fla.; and two nieces, Peggy Lewis of St. Louis and Joyce Miller of Leads, Ohio.
Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Allen officiating assisted by the Rev. Larry Gray. Interment will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
