Opal Marie Amelunke, 90, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1995, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born July 22, 1905, in Gordonville, daughter of Horace Edgar and Lulu Mae Klaproth Hitt. She and Henry Fritz Amelunke were married Feb. 28, 1926, in Gordonville. He died Aug. 23, 1946.
Amelunke had been a cook and salad maker at Marquette and Colonial restaurants.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Amelunke of Whitewater; a daughter, Mary Noland of Delta; a sister, Ruby Siemers of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel after 4 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Vic Van Schaik officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
