BLOOMFIELD -- Opal Long, 88, of Bloomfield died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 23, 1909, at Bloomfield, the daughter of Prince and Etta Harper Lane.
She married James Long on Dec. 19, 1925. He died Dec. 31, 1989.
She had lived most of her life in Bloomfield.
She is survived by a daughter, Juldene Almond of Bloomfield; a brother, Raymond Lane of Jefferson City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Pickney officiating. Burial will be at Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
