SIKESTON -- Opal Viola Lawson, 83, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Wagstaff, Kan., daughter of Earl E. and Ivy Hoover Stewart. She and Horace Greeley Lawson were married Jan. 3, 1933, in Olathe, Kan. He died March 25, 1965...

SIKESTON -- Opal Viola Lawson, 83, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Wagstaff, Kan., daughter of Earl E. and Ivy Hoover Stewart. She and Horace Greeley Lawson were married Jan. 3, 1933, in Olathe, Kan. He died March 25, 1965.

Lawson moved to Sikeston 12 years ago from Oceana, Calif. She was a member of Miner Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Still of Sikeston; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, and a grandchild.

There is no visitation or service.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
