INDIANAPOLIS -- Opal Claxton Calvin, 81, formerly of Olmsted and Pulaski, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 13, 1995, at Pinetree Manor Nursing Home in Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 15, 1914, at Centralia, Ill., daughter of John Logan and Leona Nickelson Claxton. She and Cecil Calvin were married. He preceded her in death...

INDIANAPOLIS -- Opal Claxton Calvin, 81, formerly of Olmsted and Pulaski, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 13, 1995, at Pinetree Manor Nursing Home in Indianapolis.

She was born Oct. 15, 1914, at Centralia, Ill., daughter of John Logan and Leona Nickelson Claxton. She and Cecil Calvin were married. He preceded her in death.

Calvin was a member of the Olmsted United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Sargent of Indianapolis; two sisters, Emma Kleine of Hoffman, Ill., and Rose Nugent of Centralia, Ill.; two brothers, Paul Claxton of Cairo, Ill., and Elbert Charles Claxton of Newton, Ill.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, a brother and a grandson.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., from 11 until 1 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jerry Herring will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
