JACKSON -- Opal A. Seabaugh, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1997, at the Heritage Garden Nursing Home in Jackson. She was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Burfordville, daughter of Harrison "Harry" and Elizabeth Allen Reynolds. On Dec. 1, 1932, she married Elmer H. Seabaugh. He died Nov. 8, 1973...

JACKSON -- Opal A. Seabaugh, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1997, at the Heritage Garden Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Burfordville, daughter of Harrison "Harry" and Elizabeth Allen Reynolds. On Dec. 1, 1932, she married Elmer H. Seabaugh. He died Nov. 8, 1973.

Survivors include a son, the Rev. Johnny L. Seabaugh of Jackson; a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Whitehead of Lake of the Ozarks; a brother, Clyde Reynolds of Jackson; a sister, Melba Zimmerman of St. Louis; a foster son, Robert Erlbacher of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son; two foster sons; two brothers and a sister.

She lived on the family farm west of Jackson from 1946 until January when she became a resident of the Heritage Garden Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Good News Christian Center Church in Jackson; the Jackson Order of the Eastern Star and the Home Makers Club. She was also active in philanthropic work for numerous organizations within the community.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Johnny Seabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
