SCOTT CITY -- Omer Everett Creech Sr., 96, of Scott City died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 22, 1901, at Troy, son of Charles and Rebecca Cox Creech. He and Virginia Laura Sloam were married March 9, 1926, at Canton.
Creech was an elementary principal, and spent 13 years at Westville Elementary School in Westville, Ill., before retiring.
He also had taught in Indiana, Illinois and Missouri, and coached basketball, track and baseball at Westville.
Survivors include his wife; a son Omer Creech Jr. of Scott City; a daughter, Jacqueline Kelley of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
A memorial service will be held later.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Scott City handled the arrangements.
