Omer Creech Jr., 78, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1927, at Canton, Mo., son of Omer Everett and Virginia Laura Sloan Creech. He and Marlene Anne Bouchard were married April 19, 1964, in Marshall, Ill.
Creech retired in 1990 as principal at Chaffee Grade School. He had also been band director at Chaffee and Scott City, superintendent at Belleview, Mo., band director at Iberia, Mo., principal at Annapolis, Mo., band director at Forsyth, Mo., and band director and classroom teacher at Indianapolis, Ind. He was a member of First Christian Church in Chaffee.
He moved to Cape Girardeau in 2002 from Scott City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Omer Dale and David Creech of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Jacqueline Kelley of Tulsa, Okla.; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Revs. V. Yount and Joe Hudson officiating.
