BURFORDVILLE -- Oma L. Barks, 74, of Burfordville died Saturday, Oct. 7, 1995, at the family home.
She was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Nimmons, Ark., daughter of the late Elain and Lena Crow Gattis.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lucas Simmons, who died in 1946. In 1950, she married J. Lowell Barks, who survives.
She is also survived by four sons, Glen Simmons and Jimmie Simmons, both of Marble Hill, Roy Simmons of Staunton, Ill., and John E. Barks of Brighton, Ill.; five daughters, Francis Nation of Lakewells, Fla., Wilma Hovis of Park Hills, Evalene Collins and Earlene Lunsford, both of Cape Girardeau, and Carol Lincoln of Marble Hill; a brother, Frank Gattis of Dallas; six sisters, Polly Owens, Brenda Burgass and Fannie Gattis, all of Piggott, Ark., Dorothy Owens of Nimmons, Faye Simmons of East Alton, Ill., and JoAnn Paris of Kennett; 30 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Shawnee Church of Christ in Jackson.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Liley Funeral Chapel, with Jerry Culbertson and John Stinnett officiating. Burial will be at Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill.
