Olivia Jewel Eichhorn, 92, of New Wells died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Monitcello House in Jackson.

She was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Barnhart, Missouri, daughter of Henry and Julia Schlueter Kraus. She and Paul A. Eichhorn were married May 4, 1952. He passed away Sept. 15, 2007.

Olivia was baptized Oct. 9, 1921, and confirmed April 14, 1935, at St. Matthew's evangelical Church in St. Louis. She was a graduate of Herculaneum High School. After she and Paul married, they owned and operated a dairy farm near Pevely, Missouri, many years and then moved to the New Wells community in 1997. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ near Fruitland.

Loving survivors include two sons, Paul D. Eichhorn and John C. (Reva) Eichhorn of New Wells; two grandchildren, Jesse (Catie) Eichhorn and Jenny Eichhorn; a sister, Alta Schmidt of Barnhart; a brother, Norvill (Joyce) Kraus of Barnhart; a brother-in-law, Victor Martin of Pevely; and a sister-in-law, Esther Brouk of Jackson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Erna Martin.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns United Church of Christ.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the St. John's United Church of Christ Church.
