Oliver J. Thomson, 82, 1221 Bloomfield, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born July 8, 1909, in Springfield, Pa., son of Joshua and Emma Kerr Thomson. He and Carlotta Grace Cornatzer were married Sept. 11, 1931, in Media, Pa. She died Sept. 26, 1991.
Thomson was a millwright with Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in New Jersey and Texas from January 1940 until retiring in 1972.
Survivors include four sons, Arthur Thomson of Cape Girardeau, Thomas Thomson of Darien, Ga., Oliver Thomson of Decatur, Ala., Stephen Thomson of Garland, Texas; two daughters, Elizabeth Jung of Cape Girardeau, Adelene Seevers of Williamsport, Pa.; a sister, Florence Lawler of Brookhaven, Pa.; 23 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
