OLIVER C. TUCKER

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Oliver C. "Jim" Tucker, 79, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 19, 1911, in Union County, son of Posey and Cora Brown Tucker. He and Mazelle Davis were married March 26, 1943, at Jonesboro. She died Jan. 14, 1978.

Tucker was retired from Florsheim Shoe Co. at Anna, and was a member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include a son, Claude Tucker of Buncombe; six daughters, Maude Shenkel of Minton, Ohio, Marie Ralls of Anna, Alta Sacchetta of Melrose Park, Mary Ralls of Bloomingdale, Faye Armour of Joliet, Ruth Coomes of Belleville.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Norris and Son Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Ford will officiate, with burial in Anna Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.
