JACKSON -- Ola A. Crites, 64, of Jackson died Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 25, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, the son of George and Maggie Niswonger Crites.

He married Yanna Hilligoss on Oct. 23, 1973. She survives.

Other survivors include five children, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a half brother.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a past Royal Patrol, Grand Prelate of the Amaranth and past patrol of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the St. Francis Auxiliary Volunteer for 11 years. He and his wife established the local kidney chapter in Cape Girardeau, and he also was past president of the organization and a member of the Sword of Bunker Hill and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He graduated from the Cape Girardeau Business College and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He worked at Superior Electric, the Southeast Missourian newspaper and the Vernon Company. He attended New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus and Dr. David Hilligoss will officiate, and burial will be in the Old Salem Cemetery near Millersville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be at 7 p.m., and a Masonic Lodge service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
