N.P. MCDANIEL

SIKESTON -- N.P. McDaniel, 75, of Sikeston died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 8, 1923, at Morehouse, son of Nathan F. and Cora M. Harnberger McDaniel. He and Catherine J. Knight were married Dec. 25, 1942, at Sikeston.

McDaniel coached high school basketball and baseball at Thayer, Winona, Matthews, West Plains, and at Sikeston from 1966 until retiring in 1974.

He was also a driver education teacher in Sikeston many years. McDaniel served as elementary principal at Jefferson County R-7 Schools, and had taught speech, drama and history.

McDaniel served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Wright of Alton; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Robert I. Jones will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date in Smith Cemetery at Alton.

Friends may call at the chapel from noon until service time.
