BROWNWOOD, Mo. -- Normandy Myers, 93, of Brownwood passed away Friday, April 17, 2015, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 23, 1921, at Zalma, Missouri, daughter of Avery Ellis and Lois Slinkard Myers.
Normandy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. She served in World War II and the Korean War.
She was a registered nurse 50 years in many different states. She was a member of the American Legion and the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two nephews, Myer "Nick" Myers II of Hillsborough, North Carolina, and Christopher Myers of Key West, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Myer Myers.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Missouri. Jim and Marilyn Hampton will officiate. Full military rites will be conducted.
A memorial service will be held at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Missouri Veterans Home.
Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
