WAPPAPELLO -- Funeral for Norman Yount of Wappapello will be held at 2 p.m. today at Unity Baptist Church in Benton. The Rev. Dale Huff and Scott Yount, grandson of Yount, will officiate. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery at Benton.
Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
Yount, 77, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at his home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1921, in St. Louis, son of A.N. and Opal C. Coppedge Yount. He and Mildred Molisee were married Oct. 11, 1951.
Yount retired from Mingo Job Corps in 1985. A veteran of World War II, he served in the military 10 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim Yount of Benton, Doug Yount of California; three daughters, Cindy Dudley of Wappapello, Angela Thomas and Patricia Edwards of Rochdale, England; a brother, Harold Yount of Price, Utah; two sisters, Betty Dillender of San Bruno, Calif., Martha Wood of Carondelet, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
