Norman Gregory Watson, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at his home.
He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of William Homer and Flora Maude Williams Watson. He first married Emma Louise Fuerth, who preceded him in death. He and Mary Ella Kaufman were married April 9, 1981, in Cape Girardeau.
Watson was a 1950 graduate of Central High School. He was a truck driver 25 years with ABF Truck Lines. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and the Teamsters Union.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, William, Norman Jr. and Ronald Watson, all of Cape Girardeau, Daniel Watson of Jackson; five daughters, Kathryn Westrich of Terre Haute, Ind., Pamela Chaney of Horse Cave, Ky., Teresa Mack of Cape Girardeau, Laurie Watson of Bowling Green, Ky., and Victoria Woods of Apple Valley, Calif.
Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy McBride of Cape Girardeau, Jeanne Crites of Jackson; two brothers, Gerard Watson of Ash Grove, Mo., Gary Watson of Cape Girardeau; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers and the rosary will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Scott Sunnenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
