ADVANCE -- Norman R. Markham, 88, of Advance died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Oct. 26, 1910, at Drum, son of Elmer and Frona Scott Markham. He and Pearl Harris were married Dec. 15, 1945, at Marble Hill. She died Jan. 25, 1996.
Markham was a retired farmer. He served with the 5th Army in Northern Africa during World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry Winchester and Scott Markham of Advance, Jim and Don Winchester of Marble Hill; a daughter, Joyce Holder of Advance; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Nanney officiating. Burial will be in Dongola Cemetery near Advance.
