PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Norman J. Figge, 68, of Perryville died March 13, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 24, 1947, in Zell, Missouri, son of Xavier and Rose (Pfaff) Figge. He and Helen Monier were married Feb. 12, 1972. She survives in Perryville.

Norman had retired from Mississippi Lime Co. in 2009 after 41 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and American Legion Post 133. He enjoyed walking, watching wrestling, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Other survivors include one son, Michael Figge of Farmington, Missouri; one daughter, Connie (Phoneoudom) Mahathath of Perryville; three brothers, Wilfred (Wanda) Figge of Pevely, Missouri, Ernest Figge of St. Mary, Missouri, and Donald Figge of Farmington; three sisters, Dorothy (Roy) Friedman of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Rosella (Edward) Otte of Ozora, Missouri, and Betty (Merlin) Monier of Perryville; and three grandchildren, Marinna, Marcas and Dominic Mahathath.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lucille Monier.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Parish wake will be at 5:30 p.m Thursday.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside honors provide by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Perry County District 32 Backpacks for Friday Program.

Young and Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Perryville provided the arrangements.
