BRIDGETON, Mo. -- Norman Eugene Carter Sr., 72, of Bridgeton passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1938, in Kennett, Mo., son of Edward and Myrtle Rea Carter. He and Imogene R. Thele were married May 30, 1970. She passed away Nov. 16, 2010.
Norman worked for General Motors and owned Carter's Pest Control. He was a member of Trinity Tabernacle in St. Louis and attended Haven of Hope Pentecostal Church in Marble Hill, Mo.
Survivors include two sons, Norman Carter Jr. of Edmundson, Mo., Darin Carter of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Donna Lewis of Hazelwood, Mo.; three sisters, Geneva Kirkman of Bonne Terre, Mo., Hersheline Mueller of Imperial, Mo., Melba Minks of Horn Lake, Miss.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Daniel Griffin Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Wells officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital or the American Lung Association.
